How We Picked These Fitness Gifts
Our team includes female running coaches, personal trainers, and longtime athletes who test fitness gear year-round. We focused on products we’ve actually used or would personally recommend for strength training, running, hiking, recovery and everyday workouts. We also looked for gear that works well for women rather than simply recommending a smaller or pink version of men’s products.

Brooks Glycerin Flex ($170)
Why we recommend it: Not just for running; great for cross-training, gym classes, and walking; not max cushion, so good for variety.
Who it’s best for: Runners who want a cushioned daily trainer that doesn’t feel super bulky.
What to know before buying: The gel pads around the heel may take a little getting used to, but our team is really loving this trainer for all kinds of activity!

The Glycerin Flex is a great daily trainer with fairly light weight, plenty of cushion, and it’s going to move easily with your foot. It’s going to be a shoe that could also go with you for gym classes, pickleball, and some other workouts.

Batiste Dry Shampoo ($13)
Why we recommend it: Let’s be honest, you don’t want to wash your hair every day, so this helps keep it looking fresh on non-wash days.
Who it’s best for: Runners who don’t have time for a full hair wash after a sweaty workout.
What to know before buying: Since this is a tinted option, it can get on your hands and clothing, so wash your hands after applying!

Let’s be honest, we all love it when we can push hair wash day out or three.
We love dry shampoo for days when we’re heading straight from a workout to work, brunch, or whatever else is on the schedule. It helps absorb excess oil and give your hair a quick refresh when there’s no time for a full blowout.
This brand also has options for darker hair, so you won’t end up with snowy-looking roots.
Shop Batiste Dry Shampoo NowPolar Chest Strap ($105)
Why we recommend it: Wrist-based HR data isn’t always accurate; this provides more reliable data.
Who it’s best for: Runners who train by heart rate zones and want more accurate data to help guide workouts.
What to know before buying: Since it’s a chest strap, make sure it sits comfortably under your sports bra to avoid chafing.

When it comes to chest straps, Polar makes some of the best in the market! Coach Amanda has personally used the Polar H10 and it’s an incredible monitor.
But if you want the newest and greatest, you can’t beat the Polar H10 as the overall best chest strap heart rate monitor on the market for runners.
It comes with enough built-in memory to store data from a single workout that you can then transfer to the compatible app, i.e., Polar Beat. It is also compatible with many other top fitness apps, so you have a wide variety to choose from.
Shop Polar HR Chest Strap NowPonyFlo Alex Active Hat ($33)
Why we recommend it: Its design makes it easier to wear your hair up comfortably without having to adjust your ponytail to fit through a super tiny opening.
Who it’s best for: Runners with longer hair who love wearing it up and out of the way while running.
What to know before buying: There’s Velcro to adjust the fit, which may snag your hair a little, but it’s still a hat we’d recommend!

If you’ve ever been victimized by a running hat, we see you.
Ponyflo is designed so you can wear your hair up at a comfortable height without having to redo it a million times. It’s lightweight and breathable, making it a great option for everything from long runs to errands.

Gnarly Creatine ($53)
Why we recommend it: Their products are gluten- and soy-free, which isn’t always easy to find with supplement brands.
Who it’s best for: She wants to add more to her fueling and recovery but doesn’t want overly flavored products.
What to know before buying: There’s a variety of products, and some also contain caffeine.

We love that Gnarly makes it easy for runners to add creatine to their daily routine. It’s unflavored, so you can mix it into your favorite drink or smoothie without changing the taste.
It’s an easy thing to add to her routine especially if her goal is to get stronger alongside those daily miles!
Shop Gnarly Creatine NowTravel Essentials Kit ($14)
Why we recommend it: Keep their gym bag stocked with the little things they need to freshen up quickly.
Who it’s best for: She’s on the go, heading from work to the gym.
What to know before buying: The products are pre-selected for this kit, but you can always build your own.

We love keeping a little travel kit stocked with essentials for a quick refresh. It’s a practical gift with things that she’ll actually use all of the time.
Shop Smartwool Socks NowAb Roller Wheel ($15)
Why we recommend it: A small piece of equipment that doesn’t need a lot of space.
Who it’s best for: She loves a challenge and wants to build a stronger core.
What to know before buying: Start with small movements before trying a full ab rollout to prevent any injuries.

Don’t let this wheel fool you; it is one heck of a workout once you get the hang of the proper form.
We love using an ab roller to mix up strength training and work on core stability. Plus, it’s a fun challenge for the whole family to see who can master it (trust us, it’s harder than it looks!).
And since it takes up hardly any space, it’s an easy addition to your home gym.
Shop Ab Roller Wheel NowBest Women’s Fitness Gifts Under $50
Trailheads Mittens ($38)
Why we recommend it: These will make cold fingers a thing of the past for winter adventures!
Who it’s best for: She likes going on adventures in the colder temps but wants to keep her hands warm.
What to know before buying: They are indeed touchscreen compatible, but we won’t pretend that it’s easy to use a phone without your fingers.

The Trailheads Touchscreen Quilted Mittens are an excellent choice for very cold weather, all the way down to 15 degrees.
These gloves use a double-layer fabric that keeps them comfortable and great at retaining heat.
I’m a fan of this particular brand because they do a lot of testing and are a budget-friendly option. The downside for me with mittens is the lack of dexterity.
Shop Trailheads Mittens NowElta MD UV Daily Sunscreen Stick ($40)
Why we recommend it: It’s a water-resistant sunscreen that’s easy to apply and comes with tinted options!
Who it’s best for: Runners who spend a lot of time outdoors.
What to know before buying: You’ll need to reapply it regularly if you’re outside for multiple hours + sweating.

As someone who is easily prone to dark spots, which happens more and more as our hormones shift, Coach Amanda is NEVER without sunscreen in her daily moisturizer and especially with running.
BUT ALSO, she’s discovered the stick version of this moisturizer is perfect to throw in a day bag!
Most sunscreens will get too hot or too big to carry on a long outdoor day, but not the stick. This one also comes in tinted options, which many runners love as it almost acts like a foundation.
If brown spots are an issue, you definitely want an option with Zinc Oxide or Titanium Oxide!
Shop Elta MD Sunscreen NowOrgain Protein Shake ($40)
Why we recommend it: It doesn’t taste super chalky or chemical-filled, which we love!
Who it’s best for: Runners looking for dairy-free/vegan protein powder options.
What to know before buying: There are two different protein powders available- regular (21g protein) and sport (30g protein).

Higher in protein than their regular powder at 21 grams, the sport version also includes a few other goodies focused on boosting recovery.
The pea, chia, and brown rice protein blend helps create the complete protein we mentioned for recovery. Also, though you won’t taste it, the powder contains beets to help boost blood oxygen flow, turmeric for inflammation, and tart cherry for recovery.
Bonus: Snag them a shaker bottle too, so they have one to stash in their gym bag and at home.

Garmin Forerunner 570 ($550)
Why we recommend it: It’s the cream of the crop among Garmin watches, offering all the bells and whistles, including taking phone calls.
Who it’s best for: Runners who love digging into data and like to use their watch for more sports than just running.
What to know before buying: It’s definitely an investment, and we found the battery life to be a little shorter than other high-priced Garmin watches.

The Garmin Forerunner 570 is a fantastic watch for athletes who are very active beyond running. It has some very specific features for those who do mountaineering, skiing, golf or team sports.
Garmin heard you loud and clear: on the face, a lot of you like your Apple Watch is being able to take or answer a phone call. Well now, you can also call them right from your wrist, kinda like Inspector Gadget.
We do have to warn you, though: if it’s super windy, the person on the other end may not hear you too clearly unless you try to block the microphone. It’s a tiny speaker, so unless you want to look like Inspector Gadget, we doubt you’ll walk a few miles with your wrist to your mouth.

Aftershokz OpenSwim Pro ($229)
Why we recommend it: You can use them for any activity, but we love that they’re waterproof for swimming!
Who it’s best for: Triathletes or anyone who likes to add swimming as cross-training and wants to listen to something while they work out.
What to know before buying: Bluetooth won’t work underwater, but you can download music to the built-in MP3 storage.
You might be considering gifting a friend some Apple AirPods, but those aren’t the best for swimming. In fact, very few of us have earbuds that are truly made for swimming.
We might sweat in them A LOT, but that’s different than being submerged. Luckily, these will meet that demand and be great for running and biking!! The bone conduction means our ears aren’t blocked, so we can always hear what’s happening around us.
They are not, however, Bluetooth compatible! So I would probably only use them to swim as you have to load what you want to hear onto them.
But since they’re fully submersible and waterproof, they are truly incredible and will make just about any swimmer super happy!
Bonus points because you can still wear them for running, biking and other activities!
Shop Aftershokz OpenSwim Pro NowForm Smart 2 Goggles ($259)
Why we recommend it: We love that you can see all the data in the lenses as you swim, just like you would with a running watch!
Who it’s best for: Triathletes and runners who spend a lot of time in the pool.
What to know before buying: You’ll need a premium subscription to get access to guided workouts and coaching.

Whether you’re training for a triathlon or just swimming for cross-training, these are a game-changer.
Through the goggles, you can get real-time swim data! No need to glance at a watch. And they work for both pool and open water swims!

Lululemon 3-in-1 Gym Duffle Bag ($158)
Why we recommend it: It has plenty of storage for everything she needs for a full day of work + workout, plus a separate pocket for sweaty, smelly gear.
Who it’s best for: She’s on the go and needs a bag that can carry the essentials and a little more.
What to know before buying: The strap can double as a yoga mat carrier, so you’re technically getting two pieces of gear. Win.

With a specific space for your shoes, you’ll never feel like the gym germs are being spread around! Plus this bag is made from sustainable materials which feels good, while you look good!
And she always knows you care when you buy Lulu…I don’t know if that’s their slogan, but I’ve yet to met someone who doesn’t find their gear attractive and super high quality.
Available in a cute pink or a sleek black, the outer straps make it easy to also carry a yoga mat or in my case shove that winter jacket!
Shop Lululemon Duffel NowHyperice Sphere ($109)
Why we recommend it: It’s compact and can go with you anywhere. Because it’s so small, it’s great for targeting areas a foam roller just can’t reach.
Who it’s best for: The gal who wants to get rid of tight muscles without always carrying a foam roller around.
What to know before buying: The vibration can be intense, so start at a lower setting to get used to it.

It may be a tiny sphere, but boy does it pack a punch (in the best way possible!).
This vibrating massage ball is great for targeting those stubborn tight spots in your feet, calves, and glutes after a tough run or workout.
Plus, it’s small enough to toss in your bag so you can keep up with your recovery routine wherever you go.
Shop Hyperice Sphere NowHoka ORA Slide 3 ($60)
Why we recommend it: Great as gym sandals for the shower or pool to protect feet from picking up anything like, yikes, warts. Or for simply wearing around the house for extra support.
Who it’s best for: Runners who are looking for a comfortable slide with a little extra stability.
What to know before buying: Sizing is unisex, so she may not wear her usual shoe size.

The Hoka Ora Recovery Slide (or now flip flop) is on its third model and continues to evolve to provide ample comfort to wearers.
These slides, which boast the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) Seal of Acceptance as a product beneficial to foot health, aren’t too different from the original ORA Slide. They are super plush when it comes to cushion with an injection molded sugarcane EVA foam midsole.
This newest model adds air vents for enhanced breathability and a wide base for moderate stability, making it good for both neutral gaits and those who need more support.
While not the sleekest sandals, they’re unisex and come in a wide range of sizes.

Bowflex Select Tech ($429)
Why we recommend it: Perfect for smaller spaces and those not looking for super duper heavy lifting.
Who it’s best for: She wants to add weights to her routine but doesn’t have space for a rack of dumbbells.
What to know before buying: They do max out at 52.2 lbs, so if she wants to start some heavy lifting, it may not be the best option.

Want to be the hero of the day? Get them some adjustable dumbbells for their home gym so they can become fitter, faster, and more injury-proof.
Dumbbells have been pricier the last two years, so 100% jump on any sale you might see. These are a great option because, without taking up much space, you can get up to 52.5lbs per dumbbell.
They’re so versatile that whoever you gift them to will use them for years and years to come!
Shop Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells NowResistance Bands ($10)
Why we recommend it: Resistance bands take up no space and can easily fit in a backpack when you’re traveling.
Who it’s best for: Every single runner… bands are especially perfect for your dynamic warm-up.
What to know before buying: The bands are labeled so you know how much resistance you’re working with.

Resistance bands are great for everything from glute activation before a run to adding a little extra resistance during strength workouts. Plus, they take up almost no space and are easy to toss in your suitcase so you can keep up with your routine while traveling.
Shop Resistance Bands NowSlam Ball ($18-50)
Why we recommend it: It’s a piece of gear that can be used for so many different types of workouts- strength, balance, coordination, and power.
Who it’s best for: She’s looking to add some resistance to her workouts.
What to know before buying: Not all medicine balls are designed for slamming; make sure to check before using it for HIIT-type workouts.

Unlike medicine balls, slam balls are designed for throwing or slamming in to the ground. They allow us to have a combo strength and high intensity workout session.
Available in a variety of weights to suit the user, these area durable rubber ball filled with sand or gel.
Shoot you may just want one for days where you have some leftover work frustrations to workout.

Epsom Salts ($35)
Why we recommend it: An easy and affordable way to add a little spa-like recovery to your training routine.
Who it’s best for: Runners who want a little extra time to relax after a long run or workout.
What to know before buying: The jury is still out on how much this actually speeds up recovery, but hey, if you enjoy relaxing soaks as a part of training, keep on keeping on.

After a long run, sometimes all we want to do is soak in a warm bath!
We love adding Epsoak to the water, especially on days when our legs feel extra tired. It’s a simple way to unwind and give ourselves a little downtime after logging miles.
Shop Epsoak Epsom Salts NowChirp Contour ($610)
Why we recommend it: Deep tissue massage combined with heat. Say no more. It’s a way to get a good massage without leaving your home.
Who it’s best for: Anyone who wants a way to help relax tight back muscles at home.
What to know before buying: It weighs about 22lbs, so this isn’t something you’re going to take on the go.

The Chirp Contour delivers deep pressure to your back, and the added heat makes it feel like an expensive massage chair in a smaller package (though not very portable).
It’s an investment, and the neck massage may be too intense for some people. But if you enjoy deep tissue work and want an easy way to relax tight muscles at home, the Chirp Contour is well worth considering.

Normatec Pulse 3.0 Leg Recovery System ($899)
Why we recommend it: A big piece of recovery is simply getting your athlete to SIT still, and these will do the trick.
Who it’s best for: Any runner looking for a little extra recovery during their training.
What to know before buying: These are like 1/3 of the price, and we doubt they will notice much of a difference.

Having this Normatec Leg Recovery System at home is like having a personal massage therapist on demand. It’s a pricier gift on the list, but also one of the absolute best ones for anyone who needs an extra something after a recent injury.
This system uses dynamic air pressure to deliver a restorative massage that increases blood circulation, aids recovery, and helps you feel refreshed afterward.
It comes with 7 intensity settings, customizable time, pressure, and zone settings, but it’s still lightweight and comfortable, weighing only 3.4 lbs. It’s definitely worth the price and will make some fitness lovers feel extra spoiled if they get it as a gift!

Lululemon Fast and Free Tight ($128)
Why we recommend it: No matter what you put in the pockets, they don’t weigh the tights down as you run.
Who it’s best for: She’s looking for a pair of tights with pockets that aren’t see-through and are sweatproof.
What to know before buying: It is a thinner material, so it may not be ideal for super cold days.

When it comes to fitness gifts for her, Lululemon might be on the pricier side, but it lasts forever, performs well, and fits well. These tights (or shorts) are incredible, and now that they come with a pocket, they’re even better!
You can easily fit your phone in it, making it super convenient and honestly a feature that now we all feel like we can’t live without!
Plus the Lycra fabric is breathable, sweat-wicking, and the definition of comfort. It’s also ‘squat-proof’ so you know your female friends will feel comfortable in them regardless of the workout they’re doing!
The ankle is a raw hem, which means less constriction or chafing, and the high-rise style is really flattering.
They’re available in full-length, crop, capri, and even shorts. Plus, they come in a variety of colors, and I’m sure you’ll find something your loved one is going to absolutely love.
But in case you’re not sure of the right size then nothing fits better than a $200 gift card! Talk about the dream gift!

Who it’s best for: She’s looking for a sugar-free option to support her daily hydration.
What to know before buying: These sticks aren’t something you’d grab on the run; they’re designed for everyday use.

These hydration sticks make it easy to add electrolytes and a little flavor to your water, whether you’re heading out for a run, hitting the gym, or just trying to drink more throughout the day.
Plus, they’re sugar-free and easy to toss in your bag so you always have a few on hand.

Rumpl Travel Blankets (starting at $89)
Why we recommend it: It’s a lightweight, packable blanket that still keeps you warm.
Who it’s best for: Great for aid stations if she likes to run long trail races.
What to know before buying: We wouldn’t recommend using it as a sleeping bag, but as an outer layer to keep cozy at aid stations!

If camping (or overnight racing) is his thing, a warm blanket from Rumpl is perfect to have in the aid station for those overnights.
The blankets have snaps that turn them into a cape, which is perfect for keeping the crew warm while waiting or wrapping around a runner who needs to recharge.
It also makes a great gift for adventurers who plan on thru-hiking and will need warm but lightweight gear to carry in their packs.
Shop Rumpl Blankets NowKnog Headlamp (on sale currently for $36)
Why we recommend it: Early morning dog walking, running, camping, anyone who loves the outdoors – this one is more comfortable because of the curve
Who it’s best for: She goes out when the sun isn’t out and needs a little extra light.
What to know before buying: The one different thing is the charger, which needs a USB plug or to plug in to your computer.

I was super impressed by this option because it was just so different from everything else out there! The silicone and slight curve make it feel…well like it’s actually made to sit on a forehead.
There’s also a little foam padding on the backside to make it a bit more comfortable than the normal hard plastic.
The back is a toggle, like say what you use to keep your sunglasses hanging around your neck. That actually makes it pretty darn easy to find the right fit or adjust it while running, which is I’ve needed to do many times with a headlamp that suddenly feels too tight or is slipping as I sweat.
Shop Knog Headlamp NowTeva Terrain Slip On ($100)
Why we recommend it: We love that these are cozy, easy to wear, and versatile enough for any time during the chillier months.
Who it’s best for: Comfort is her top priority.
What to know before buying: The quilted upper makes these great for when the temps drop outside.

This is your go-to post-run or post-cycle option when you want something comfy. Kick your running shoes off and slip your feet into these, and relax!
And if you’re worried about your sweaty feet stinking them up, they’re treated with Life Natural, which helps fight the growth of odor-causing bacteria.

Echelon Reformer Machine (starting at $2,499)
Why we recommend it: It brings studio-quality workouts right into your home.
Who it’s best for: She loves Pilates, but she’s got a busy schedule and prefers to take classes at home.
What to know before buying: The machine folds up, but it is still a relatively large piece of equipment if it isn’t the only piece in your home gym.

Given its durability and extensive features, our team highly recommends the Echelon Meridian Pilates Reformer, especially for the price.
I love that the machine offers so many options for connectivity, use, and space, while still looking and feeling like a true studio machine. The reformer’s high-quality materials and aesthetic make it feel like a luxury, and the workouts offer endless benefits for runners looking to improve strength, flexibility, and longevity.
It also requires a monthly Echelon membership to use the touchscreen; however, you can use a tablet holder instead if you’d prefer other classes or a more budget-friendly platform.

Velotric Summit 2 Bike ($2099)
Why we recommend it: The electric assist makes it easier to tackle hills and make longer rides a little more enjoyable.
Who it’s best for: She’s looking for a new way to stay active but doesn’t want a traditional road or mountain bike.
What to know before buying: This will be a little heavier than a traditional bike because of the motor.

An e-bike is a fun way to mix up your workouts and add in some cross-training to your routine.
Whether you’re cruising around town, hitting some uphill climbs, or heading out on the trails, the electric assist is like the turbo boost you never knew you needed.
This is a great option for runners to add a little cross-training without fully committing to cycling and investing in all the gear.

Shop Velotric Summit 2 NowWhat is a good fitness gift for a woman?
A good fitness gift fits her goals and makes training a little easier. Think comfortable workout clothes, recovery tools, that new pair of shoes she kept hinting at or something as pratical as a pair of socks.
What do you get a woman who loves working out?
Pay attention to what she talks about most (running, recovery, or even her goals). If you’re not sure what she already owns or maybe what her size is try a gift card to her favorite brand.
What are good fitness gifts under $50?
Plenty of fitness gift ideas are well under $50. Think of things she uses all the time; you can never go wrong with another pair of socks, or even a pack of resistance bands! If you need an idea for budget-friendly gifts, we have some here.
What do you get a gym girl who has everything?
Consider experiences like a sports massage, a ClassPass gift card, or even a racecation so she has something to look forward to. Or, if you’ve noticed a piece of her gear is well-loved from constant use, maybe upgrade it to the newest version.
What fitness gifts should you avoid?
Avoid fitness gifts that require knowing sizes unless she’s given you her specifics for clothes and/or shoes. Also, steer clear of bulky or large fitness equipment unless she’s sent over a link to something she’s been eyeing.
Is workout clothing a good gift?
Yes, but again, make sure you know what brands she likes, sizing, and the fit. If you need some ideas, we have a few lists for you. This is also a great time when a gift card works well too!
What are good fitness stocking stuffers for women?
Stocking stuffers are an easy way to get things she’ll actually use. Think lip balm, dry shampoo, sunglasses- really anything that’s small enough for her to toss in a gym bag! We also have a full stocking stuff guide for more ideas.
Honestly, with a closet full of gear that I adore and use so often, I could go on and on with fitness gifts for her. But I tried to narrow it down to save you some time and get your shopping done!!
Listen gifts for athletic women doesn’t have to be nearly as hard as you think! We’re not just small men, but we need a lot of similar things. Don’t just look for the pink version and move on. Spend a few seconds considering that our bike shorts might need a different kind of padding, or that we love patterned gear, or hate patterned gear…one look in the closet will probably tell you exactly what we like!
